About Colorado Contractor Weekly
by NotYourAIDad
Colorado Contractor Weekly is a free email for Colorado contractors. One issue goes out every Friday morning, Mountain time.
Why this exists
I came up through roofing and storm restoration. Now I'm a general contractor. More than once a rule or code change caught me on a job because I didn't know it was coming. The news was out there, just scattered across city sites, state boards and trade press.
This is the one place I wanted. It's for small contractors and crews in every trade, and the owners and office staff stuck with permits and paperwork. It's free, it comes out Fridays, and every item links to its source so you can check it yourself.
AI helps me find and write each issue. That's on purpose. It shows what these tools can actually do for a contractor. I read what goes out and I stand behind it.
What each issue has
A box at the top lists one headline from each section. Then come five sections, each with three to five short briefs:
- Top local stories: Colorado news that affects contractors.
- Laws & rules: Colorado laws, rules and code changes, and federal rules that reach Colorado contractors, with their status and next date.
- Technology: software, AI, tools and equipment used by contractors.
- National news: the US construction industry.
- Unconfirmed: items that aren't settled yet, such as drafts, allegations or plans without a firm date. Each one says why it is unconfirmed.
If nothing qualifies for a section, the issue says so.
Sources
Every brief links its source: government and state board pages, company announcements, and news and trade publications. Briefs restate what the source says, with a date or number line you can check.
Questions or corrections: page@nyaid.ai. Read past issues.
